Takaragawa Onsen (宝川温泉)
The bath of the White Hawk. Deep in the misty mountains of Gunma, we bathed where samurai once did. Thick morning steam, vast open-air onsens, traditional yukatas, and the feeling of stepping into another era.
This is our second Onsen — raw, cinematic, and unforgettable.
Ōdaru (大滝)
We kicked off our Japan trip with an unforgettable visit to Ōdaru, the majestic largest waterfall in Kawazu’s Nanadaru Seven Waterfalls area, where we soaked in silky onsen waters surrounded by lush greenery and a hidden, quirky pool that felt like stepping into another era. After getting lost for hours driving under Mount Fuji, arriving at the peaceful Nanadaru Onsen Hotel and experiencing this magical blend of raw nature, history, and deep relaxation set the perfect tone for the rest of our adventure.
Road Trip to the Hot Springs Association Connection Conference
From a 20-hour epic road trip across New Mexico, Utah, and Nevada to an unforgettable presentation on the healing power of hot springs and the art of storytelling—we dove deep into the heart of the hot springs community at the Annual Hot Springs Association Connection Conference in Calistoga, California. A brief account of the serendipitous connections with visionary stewards and behind-the-scenes interviews for our geothermal healing documentary..
Pagosa Hot Springs
Imagine stepping into a living cathedral where the Earth herself whispers secrets through steam-kissed air. That’s exactly where our cameras dove deep during our recent pilgrimage to Pagosa Hot Springs—and what a revelation it was.
We’re Officially in Production — First Stop: Truth or Consequences!
We have exciting news — Beneath the Surface has officially entered production! We kicked off the month with a jaunt over to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, one of the most storied hot springs towns in the American Southwest and filmed several amazing interviews.
And So It Begins…First Interview
We drove alongside the border of Mexico, to Gila Hot Springs, tucked away in ancient wilderness just a stone’s throw from remnants of cliff dwellings where the indigenous people of this land once lived. Here we interviewed camp host and steward of water, Augie Castorena.
